The Show House is launched!

The Shoreline Show House was launched to local and trade press on Friday June 26th. What a great day it proved to be. We were under a lot of pressure to get the interior ready on time …and we did feel like we were in the last five minutes of Grand Designs.. when the programme makers appear to contrive some tension to keep the viewers watching. This was not the case with us…the tension was very real! Danny and I were running around Debenhams at 1.45 trying to find the right colour super king size vallance…very funny in retrospect …not at the time. Everyone’s hand was on deck pulling together and the teamwork paid off handsomely. Swat TV came on site and filmed us for over three hours for a new Sky TV channel that focuses on environmental issues. This will be launched through the Daily Telegraph on July 4th.

We all felt a great sense of achievement when the curtains finally went up (thanks to the gorgeous Charlotte who handmade each one) and our throng of guests walked the five storeys to arrive in the spectacular galleried living area. It looked stunning and the ‘wow’ response from everybody revolved around a similar theme: “I’d love to live here”. Well they can now.

The press interest on this ground-breaking development has proved phenomenal. There was lots of people to thank and the wine flowed. The only problem we had was getting our guests to leave …unsurprising really… the sun shone constantly in true Hastings style, the sailboats were out in numbers and the light refracting from the gorgeous seaview proved gently soporific…perfect!
